Being that I am a mother of two toddlers, I know how fast growth and change occurs with little ones. It seems as if your life is constantly moving, like someone hit a "fast forward" button and you can't seem to do anything to slow it down. It really is amazing to have memories of all stages in life, which is why I think it's so important to take pictures and take them often. Not meaning hiring someone everytime your child changes, but taking photos of your own children, being themselves. It is not possible to have a "bad" photo session with a child in my opinion. Every child goes through stages, especially venturing into toddler hood. At this stage, they are learning your reactions, right from wrong, and gaining independence. It is a very, very important part of growing up-and I think it's absolutely amazing. Children are so complex, really. They are the most honest, loving, caring, "real", and passionate people. Just know, when hiring a custom child photographer-they WILL put in the time necessary to work with your child!
When it came to this beautiful little girl, she knew what she wanted. So, I let her be the boss, of course! We had such a fun time playing, therefore resulting in incredible candids, which beat a posed, not so real smile any day! These are my favorite; real moments. When it comes down to it, these are going to be the images that are held closest to our hearts. Although I do posed photos as well as candids, sometimes I get excited when a child says no, I don't want to sit there ;) I'm ready to go explore, and watch their little imaginations take them to places that make them truly happy. When I come home muddy, I know that a photoshoot was succesful :) Arwyn became an explorer, looking for super Grover, and a photographer. I asked her to take a photo of me on her camera, then I'd take one of her. We banged rocks, we threw leaves, and played a color game. It worked out so wonderfully, and was quite funny to watch this little girl in action! Evan was so absolutely adorable, and he cracked me up towards the end of our session doing his baby yoga ;) Check out the smiles on these two..because they're real :)
The day was bright, very bright. I was a tad nervous shooting in direct, open sunlight the entire time, but I was thrilled with the variations in light creating variations of color reflection in my images! To the family, thank you so much for hiring me. I hope your as happy with your images as I am! Here is a little sneak peak of your session!
